Charlotte Tilbury

Beauty products promoted using the latest audio visual technology

After more than 20 years in the fashion and beauty industry - Charlotte Tilbury, the world’s most sought after make-up artist launched her own eponymous range of makeup and skincare. The Charlotte Tilbury beauty range launched in the UK in September 2013 to record-breaking results and critical acclaim.

the challenge

As part of the brand’s growth, a series of flagship stores were planned, the first being at London’s Covent Garden, followed by Westfield and further locations in the Middle East . The store design included significant digital touch points, including the famous ‘10 looks’ and a large format interactive digital window display. The key challenge was to specify hardware that would work seamlessly within the shop-fit, blending the digital elements to create a totally cohesive experience for the customer.

Our Approach

We worked closely with the shopfitters on each project to integrate a multitude of audio visual technology. Each store features a combination of large format video wall displays, a high brightness interactive digital window display and 20 smaller screens, each dedicated to one of the 10 famous Tilbury looks.

The small format displays were sourced from an industrial monitor provider, as the consumer alternatives would not have been fit for purpose. Multi-output media players we’re specified to drive the distinct ‘looks’ displays, to allow simple synchronisation of content and reduce long-term licensing and maintenance costs.

In addition to the visual displays, we procured and installed the in-store music system.

For the Middle East stores, a local hardware and installation provider was utilised to perform the on-site configuration tasks, with the media playback, content scheduling and remote support duties being provided by Pixel to mirror the mechanisms of the European estate.

The Outcome

The stores looked fantastic, with the digital elements providing additional visual drama to the operations. Our fully managed services keep a watchful eye over the media playback and provide out of hours on-site support when needed, allowing Charlotte Tilbury staff to concentrate on their own priorities.
