Provide flight centre stores with digital media solutions
Since establishing their first store in 1995, Flight Centre have grown both their business and team of Travel Experts to include over 80 stores within the United Kingdom, with new stores opening regularly.
the challenge
Flight centre approached Pixel in the UK because of our experience of implementing digital signage and interactive solutions in the retail travel market. They wanted to enhance the existing stores with new digital elements, to bring the interior and window displays to life.
Our Approach
We provided all of the company’s in-store digital media, typically taking the shape of large format (60″+), ultra high-brightness displays installed into their windows. These displays are enclosed in purpose-built totems designed and fabricated by usl. We have also supplied internal displays, installed to imitate airport departure boards, that instead of departure times, showcase the latest prices available for top destinations.
Content is managed and updated by the Flight Centre marketing team, while Pixel’s support team ensure the infrastructure is working 24/7.
In addition to the customer-facing digital channels, we also provide internal corporate communications displays, designed to ensure that staff are kept up-to-date with the latest offers and information relevant to their work. This network spans across all Flight Centre UK office locations and utilises what we term as digital panoramas (3×1 video walls) to provide up to date information to staff via a mix of client supplied content and dynamic templates using existing data sources including weather feeds and internal sales databases.
The Outcome
Flight centre successfully introduced new, in-store digital channels without requiring any significant changes to their staffing, content management or support processes. Their store windows now contain full motion graphics, featuring the latest holiday deals.
